Workplace Giving

Over $5 billion of charitable gifts are generated through workplace giving. Top businesses such as Microsoft, BP, Walmart, Expedia, and Apple have an established culture of business philanthropy. Even if you’re starting your employee-giving and/or employer-matching campaign, the possibilities are endless as to the impact you, your business, and employees can have on Habitat’s mission.

Recurring employee/employer gifts provide HFHWC the flexibility to invest in the future as well as meet daily needs or react to emergencies, such as disaster relief.

Many employers will match tax-deductible charitable contributions made by their employees, retirees and employees’ spouses. Some provide matching funds to support employee volunteer hours.

Employee Giving

  • Research if your employer is already a Habitat for Humanity workplace partner.
  • Initiate adding Habitat for Humanity to your workplace giving campaign.
  • Encourage others to use of your company’s matching gift program
  • Raise money for Habitat through fun, workplace fundraising events (i.e. Jeans Day for $10) – ask Habitat for ideas and let us know you’re doing it so we can support you!

Employer Giving

Donating – Your employees can take part in your workplace giving program by making regular donations to Habitat for Humanity. Donation Matching – Many companies match their employees’ donations to Habitat for Humanity―directly supporting their passion for fighting poverty housing. Volunteering – Getting people out of their offices and into the community can be a life-changing reminder of the power of teamwork. At each Habitat build, employees learn skills they can apply anywhere. They become more confident in their abilities to embrace challenges, overcome obstacles and solve problems. Employees will leave the Habitat build site more motivated than ever to work for a company that believes in giving back.
