Individuals with and without construction
experience volunteer to assist in building the partner family
homes during the following stages:
- Wall
Framing/Trusses/Sheathing
- Overhangs/Deck
& Roof
- Windows/Siding &
Exterior Trim
- Exterior Caulk
& Paint
- Interior Paint
- Vinyl Composition
Tile
- Interior Doors
& Trim/Cabinets
- Final Interior Paint
- Hardware &
Appliances
- Landscape &
Shed
Other
steps in the construction process are completed by
sub-contractors or in-kind donors in a specific trade such as
plumbing
or electrical services. Habitat for Humanity of
Williamson County provides
a 2 year
warranty on each home.

You may “volunteer”
as an individual
or
with a
group.

When
volunteering on the construction site:
- bring
a tape measure, utility knife, hammer, pencil, tool-belt and gloves if
possible
- closed
toe shoes are required
- hat,
sun screen and water bottle is recommended
- lunch
will be provided for volunteers.
Children
under 16 are not allowed on the construction site. Youth 16 – 18 are
welcome to volunteer
but are
not allowed
to
use power tools. We are exploring construction opportunities for children

– 15 at this time.
