About
Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County |
|
On July 1, 2007,
the Habitat for Humanity
affiliate of Georgetown
merged
with the Round
Rock affiliation to create Habitat for Humanity of
Williamson
County (HFHWC).
In
our first 6 months of operation, the new affiliate has completed
construction
of 4 new
homes - 3 in Georgetown
and 1 in Round Rock. We
are in
conversation with
city
officials in Taylor about
land availability there
to
begin construction. Two more homes are now under construction in Georgetown.
The Board of Directors approved "partner family" status to 5 more families on
January 18. These families will begin home ownership preparation classes this spring before construction begins on
their homes this summer.
The next partner family application meetings will be set for April 2008. Individuals interested in applying for a
Habitat home must attend one of these meetings. Information on the meetings will be posted on this web site and
emailed to those expressing interest in the past months.
We
are excited about the many new opportunities to serve the
communities in our county. The Board
of
Directors
and I are seeking your help as we further chart
the future for
this ministry
in Williamson County. We need
your valuable input! Please join us by
volunteering, donating
funds, and
praying
for our success
as
our
organization grows to help more families in Williamson County.
