Our Global Village Initiatives

Global Village

Global Village is a Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) program that creates opportunities for volunteers to build overseas for one to three weeks with families in need and local volunteers. For every home built in Williamson County, Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County tithes a portion of its funds to Habitat Guatemala, to support HFHI’s effort to eliminate poverty housing around the world. In 2008, Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County organized its first ever Global Village trip to Guatemala with a team of Habitat volunteers.

GLOBAL VILLAGE TRIP 2016: Portugal

We had a team of 11 Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County volunteers traveling for a once-in-a-lifetime experience building a single family home working alongside a mother and her two teenage children with Habitat for Humanity Portugal in February 2016.

GLOBAL VILLAGE TRIP 2016: Guatemala

A team of 12 HFHWC volunteers traveled in mid-June to Guatemala to build a single family home, latrines and stoves.

If you are interested in participating in future Global Village build trips, please email info@williamsonhabitat.org for more details.

Please note: Because of the strenuous tasks involved with build trips in hot, foreign climates, you must be in excellent health and outstanding physical condition to be considered for the team.
